To Do
Here's an ever-expanding list of everything this wiki needs to be complete.

*Make sure everything is up to date. Some pages are very old here and may need to be updated.

*Honestly, almost everything needs improvement overall.

* Codex Make sure everything in the codex is on it's respective page. The codex shouldn't really have it's own page, as it has no info for itself, other than the fact that entries are unlocked as the player progresses. Although, maybe we could consolidate all entries onto one page? Would be somewhat redundant.

*:Category: Characters Their respective codex entries on each page obviously, and all the other info. List encounters if any, and have a sub-page for each (like Seth Nobu/Quotes) for quotes. Also have the voice actor, type of ship/weapons, support, etc.

:*HIVE The AI that talks to the player.

:* In the credits, the main character is listed as Hero.

:*Seth Nobu, Adam Roslin, Denara Roslin, Clones, Admiral Gorc.

*List of Ship colors? Ship Colors

*:Category:Enhancements - Some more info could be added, maybe. A complete enhancements screen for the picture. Still some subroutines missing.

*:Category:Factions

:*Colonial Fleet

::*Add more info about colonial warships and derelict stations. Pictures!

:*Ancients

::*Ancient Structures From a more official source and in the interest of keeping the wiki consistent, this is their name. "They are largely referred to as Ancient Structures, classified as Ancient Depots, and function as Ancient Warp Gates. Perhaps they should mainly be listed as Ancient Structures, with Ancient Depots and Ancient Warp Gates redirecting to the main article."

:*Okkar (invasions after scanning or taking too long in a region.

::*Okkar ships (Intercepters, fighters, elites, Corvettes, Frigates, drones, etc, do it like Resources) -some of these already exist, just merge them with the new page.

:*Outlaws

::*Outlaw ships (Fighters, scouts, elites, turrets, missile turrets/silos, drones, Webber Drones)

:*Grady & Brunt Prospects - could be fleshed out some more.

::*G&B ships (Freighters/transports: Fuel, Credit, resource, might be more. Service stations, fighters, elites, etc.)

*:Category:Player ships - Continue adding loadouts to the respective ships if needed, as well as completing the Perks.

*What to do with Blueprints or Crafting? Reorganize the pages, at least.

*Hardcore Mode

*Containers - G&B, Special Tech, Tech, (Locked?), Normal, any more?

*More Important locations, like The Lab.

* Should we put what updated certain items or factions were introduced?

Significant projects
*Hardcore Mode - Details, have a section for a list of the negative conditions/debuffs you have to choose, not sure what else.

*:Category:Quotes -Separate into pages for each main character with dialogue.

* The DNA stuff. How it works, icons, etc.

*Perks

:*Most perks have been updated, but a ton of information is missing from Colonial Gunship and Colonial Scout. Scout is missing the most.

*All Equipment pages have to be updated. Checked for accurate numbers (stats), manufacturer, descriptions, other info. Fusion Blaster M6-A is a good model page, for the infobox and the information on the page. Devices are pretty much all done except for accurate crafting/salvage and manufacturer.

:*All Equipment probably has outdated crafting and salvaging costs. I accidentally did a lot with 1 level in crafting costs without realizing it. Might be able to see base costs in the hardcore mode hangar.

:*Some consumables like drones or maybe devices like turrets could use some in-game screenshots of them in action.

*To-do list
*Repair amount parameter for equipment infobox (only a number)

* Special:WantedPages for a list of currently needed pages.
*Manufacturer parameter for equipment infobox (should appear below desc parameter in the infobox, maybe green text? - Could show up as : 'Manufactuer: XXXXXXXX', aligned left)

*Switch the front page video box with the news box. Seems like the news should be closer to the top.

Good pages to visit for working on the wiki

Style Guide

This section serves to keep this wiki consistent from one article to the next. (Based off of Obduction wiki's style guide: https://obduction.gamepedia.com/Talk:Obduction_Wiki - Thanks, TheFloydman!) You should also look at https://help.gamepedia.com/Manual_of_Style, but the below list is some more unique and basic things.

  • The word "Everspace" or Everspace 2 should always be italicized when referring to the title of the game.
    • Everspace - Everspace
  • When linking the word "Everspace", the link should be directed to the Everspace page, not just the wiki's main page. ("Everspace" should still be italicized when linking.)
  • Page titles should be in sentence case. This means that you should capitalize the article title as if it were a sentence without an ending period. Only the first word and proper nouns/adjectives should start with a capital letter.
  • Please follow the file naming format. It should be something like this: File:GeneralThing-SpecificThing.filetype. If you're confused, try looking at similar files. Currently, most Everspace 2 files start with ES2-.
  • Most files older than January 2018 will have the older naming format which always had Everspace in the first part of the name.
  • Galleries should follow this format : <gallery mode="packed" style=text-align:left> </gallery>
  • Images should be taken with Action Freeze (no HUD) and should not include the game watermark. Avoid editing the image with the action freeze tools - the object or area should look as it does in-game.
  • Except for very short quotes, articles should paraphrase source material, not copy it. If context is needed, refer the reader to the source material instead. This should be easier once the wiki has transcripts of everything in the codex among other things
  • References made using automatically appear at the bottom of the article. Add "== References ==" (without quotes) to the bottom of the article so that they appear nicely in a section. This should not be done if there are no references because you will just be creating an empty section.
  • Add an infobox when appropriate.
  • Proofread before you finish creating/editing a page. This will save a lot of time down the road. This short guide is very useful.
  • The Minecraft Wiki and No Man's Sky Wiki are great examples of what we can achieve visually and textually. Let them inspire you in your work here. Inspiration for some pages such as missions might be gained from the Witcher Wiki, specifically The Witcher 3.
  • For more visual styling (such as with css, templates, and infoboxes) see the official community style guide made by Rockfish, dealing with colors, fonts, logos, and elements. File:ES2-CommunityStyleGuide.pdf
